Stainless Steel 316L Flanges are made with low carbon version of the molybdenum added chromium nickel alloy austenitic stainless steel. R.C. Metal Corporation is a leading manufacturer and supplier of the ASTM A182 Grade F316L Pipe Flanges in various scales and dimensions. The A182 specification is for forged and plate flanges that are applicable for pressure vessel grade applications. the ASTM A182 F316L Flange is used in heat exchangers, condensers, boilers and other pressure vessel applications. The molybdenum addition provides the ASME SA 182 F316L material with corrosion resistance against chloride ion. This allows the flanges to be used in high chloride rich applications such as sea water and marine applications.
Stainless Steel 316L Flanges
The SS 316L Flanges have about equal strength to the 304 flanges with 515MPa minimum tensile strength and 205MPa minimum yield strength. But the corrosion resistance is high and the 316L material’s low carbon content makes it good for welding. The 316L Stainless Steel Flanges prevent the carbide precipitation while welding and the localized corrosion is minimized.
